There are several reasons: insufficient employee involvement, incomplete or faulty assumptions and analyses, misjudgments of the market and of internal capabilities, etc. Often, numerous projects are defined and assigned without proper clarification—leading to a dangerous “projectitis”: paralysis instead of analysis!

 

In most companies, however, strategy implementation fails due to inadequate and/or missing structures, processes, and proper support for employees.
