T-shaped professionals are highly valued in modern organizations because they can:


➡️ Collaborate effectively with people from other disciplines.

➡️ Adapt to changing roles and projects.

➡️ Bring both specialized expertise and a holistic understanding to teams.

➡️ Understand the different motivations of different org units. 

➡️ Insert an entrepreneurial lens. 


This concept is often contrasted with "I-shaped" professionals (deep in one area, little breadth) and "π-shaped" or "comb-shaped" professionals (deep in two or more areas, with breadth).




I am a typical T-guy. I have very broad theoretical knowledge and practical experience - technically and industry-wise. 


Supply chain, procurement, business development, strategy, project & program management, quality management, MedTech, PVD coating, Medical lab + a super open and curious mind for about a ton of other stuff! 


BUT: if I would have to define my vertical T-bar, I would name both, my expertise in digital transformation strategy & culture, and my expertise in Medtech.
